HVAC controls and cables
It’s these small, key parts that can make or break your life when engaging in a project of this scope.

These little clips secure the HVAC control cables to stationary points so that when you move the human interface control/knob, the cable has something to resist against to move in the actual cable sheathing... totally forgettable little part, but oh so critical to the correct operation of the HVAC control system.

You can see that the parts catalog is pretty vague about routing. The FSM is no better. Luckily I took a million pics and a couple of videos to trace the cables as a reminder.

HVAC controls loosely connected via the cables. Much easier to have everything in place before installing the entire dash assembly.

HVAC cable connections
All of the cables attached to their control interfaces on the different HVAC systems.

This is for RHD; LHD would be it’s complete opposite in terms of directional routing. The cables would be the same though. The HVAC control itself is reversed so the cable lengths are still correct.

Yessir. There is a gasket between the booster and the firewall (as I showed previously) and a gasket between the master cylinder and the booster.

These are the part numbers for the set-up I have. 7x trucks are different across regions and markets. Please do confirm the ones you need.

License plate lamps
Rear license plate light and emblem modified for my truck. This is the 12V unit (has 12V bulbs).

As you can see, the Koito lenses has the 12v and 24v bulb wattages. So, the 12v bulbs came out and new 24v bulbs were installed:

Rear license plate lamps
As you can see, this unit is for the later shorty 70 series. The electrical connectors are different. Wire coloring are the same.

So, I just transferred and spliced the old connector to the new lamp assembly and away we go.

And of course I had to decorate my glove box door. That’s my own little style for my rig.

Rest of dash, flooring and seats go in tomorrow.

Can’t wait to sit in the driver seat and go “Vroom, vroom”.... still waiting on LH fender bits and pieces so I can put batteries in and finish up the engine bay.

Oh man, you have no idea how jealous I am, but in a good way you know. I hope you enjoy it in good health! I am following in your footsteps, will be done cutting rust soon. Then on to driving.
Thanks for talking to Dumitru the other day btw. He bought the thing... loves it he says!
