Hot damnnnnn....your rig is soooooo quite. Lol...

looks like my microphone is super muffled! However, full sound deadening coming soonish.....

I’m a few days into my Sniper install and wanted to share a little issue I ran into today. I’m curious how others are dealing with this as well? On the carb insulator the pipe for the purge on the charcoal canister seems to be in the way of the throttle linkage for the Sniper. I either need to cut it and cap it or re-bend it another way.

Anyone else run into this?

I think I have some pics of how mine is ran in this thread. However, i am not running the insulator. I would suggest using some standard vac line as your line looks massive and there is no need for the clamp. @FJ60Cam uses the insulator often on his builds and may have a better idea.

You can cut it short and either cap or fill with epoxy.

There is a similar sized manifold vacuum port on the Sniper you can use if you are reconnecting the charcoal canister.

Thanks for the advice! Cut and capped... Moving along well now! Do you think it’s a bad idea to run the purge From the charcoal canister into the Tee fitting above the PCV valve? I’m not a vacuum specialist but I feel like the path of least resistance would mean there isn’t enough vacuum to activate the PCV valve if I did that. Seems too good to be true.

I'm not an expert either but here is what I did: Attached brake booster to the EGR port on the block off plate on the manifold. Ran PVC to the large vacuum port on sniper (crankcase might leak less oil with negative pressure?) Vacuum advance to ported fitting on the right of the Sniper. Ran Purge to top of air-cleaner. I may tee purge to ported vacuum advance. Thinking I don't want purge at idle, only under advance, but seems to be fine on weak vac on Air-cleaner so far.

@Dustin Messina thanks for sharing your direct throttle linkage idea. I made one and it works well. I used the farthest hole on the Sniper linkage (the one on the left or towards the radiator). I can feel the gas pedal move in time to the motor as it rocks in the motor mounts. I don't quite get full opening on the butterflies at full throttle. Do you?

I have not checked my full articulation on the tps sensor. Meaning With the pedal all the way down I am not sure if I get 100% tps or not. I do know ive gone 90 plus miles per hour in my 60 and had more in the pedal. So, for me a 2f cant hold a full 100% on the sniper tps. Yes, everyone wants it, but honestly just never needed to check it as I have plenty. However, I can check and update you this weekend.

Thank you. You may be right about not needing full open. 90?? I was pretty sure a FJ60 couldn't go that fast falling off a cliff

You've never met @wngrog clearly.....

Dustin Messina, thanks for posting all this good info. I have my Holley sniper install happening this week in KC. I purchased a sniper kit from Cameron at Mosley Motors. Just a small question what window suction mount did you use to hold your sniper screen? I like where you placed it, in that last video you posted of the 80mph highway drive. Could you share what it is, and where you ordered it please. I was going to order some generic one off amazon but was going to do that not knowing if it would actually work or fit that same spot.

thank you

Yes Dustin, I knew I wanted EFI but your thread was key for me getting my 87 up and running like it is now. I think we need a sticky for the Sniper

Cut and cap that tube.

Run a Delco or Toyota purge valve with a T on the vacuum advance hose. That way you are not sucking raw fumes into the base of the sniper at idle. Only under throttle.

More info in my Warthog 4.4 thread. Search Purge

Any benefit to keeping the carb blower installed post Sniper install? Like how this Sniper setup cleans up the engine bay.
