Sorry if I am asking a question that has been asked before (I did use the search function though), but my BJ70 has some pretty saggy rear leafs. The front end has a large winch bumper and Warn 8000lb winch, and I believe the previous owner added a leaf on the front, so it definitely looks like I am sitting low at the back. I have heard mixed reviews of add-a-leaf (compromised ride quality), rearching (sagging over time) etc. I am in Vancouver, B.C., Canada and am looking for a good solution to this problem. I am not overly interested in doing a full lift kit (OME for example), does anyone sell just rear lift springs, or are there any other Toyota/Landcruiser models that would cross-reference with my truck? Thanks for reading. :)

Go to Scott spring in Surrey, they might be able to help if you are on a budget.

Hi All:

Land Cruiser 60/61/62 Series rear springs will interchange with the rear springs under your BJ70.

What you might try is fitting an extra leaf into your rear spring packs. Use like the third or fourth leaf down from another set of 60 or 70 Series rear springs. You will probably need a longer spring pin and should fit new u-bolts as well.

Good luck!

Alan

thanks, I had read that the diesel models are sought after in the U.S. market for sure. :)

Hi All:

Well, the 3B is well regarded, but it is mainly the 70 Series part!

1984 and the end of the FJ40 is the last time we got a "utility series" Land Cruiser in the USA. All the post-84 models have been "passenger series" Land Cruiser wagons.

Enjoy your rig! And, let me know if you ever want to sell it! :D

Regards,

Alan

Hey Bloke,

Most off the shelf units are way too hard for the Shorty. Even std need a leaf taken out. The steel toyota used was first rate. Pull them out and get them reset at a spring works. IF you want I can give you a photo of mine for reference. ie number of leaves. Don't be sold something new it will never be as good. Remeber the right spring is one that gives full compresion on articualtion. Your shorty looks fine to me.

Cheers Luke from Australia.

Thanks Luke, appreciate that! So you figure a re-arch of the stock spring pack is the way to go? If you could possibly show some pics of your setup it would be appreciated.

That is why I mentioned Scott Spring
