I've put a bunch of detailed information, including a lot of pictures, on fj60diesel.wordpress.com

It's a California-registered diesel Land Cruiser. It was converted to diesel back before it became virtually impossible to do so in California. It is also registered in Belize, and I have the Belizean title license plates, and import documentation.

Very sound mechanically, very reliable, motor has about 50,000 miles on it. No mechanical issues. New clutch, master and slave cylinder.

Brief rundown is as follows:

Cummins 6AT turbo diesel with intercooler
Chevy NV4500 5 speed transmission
Original transfer case adapted to transmission with adapter kit from Advance Adapters
4.10 differentials
Rear Chevy disc brakes
Old Man Emu Dakar heavy springs, Rancho Shocks, rear sway bar added from FJ62
15" steel wheels with 35" BFG all terrain tires
Dual batteries
A/C works well
Rust-free
On-board air system (belt driven, converted York 209 compressor), air chuck on each side, 2 gal. tank
1000W inverter
Mile Marker hydraulic 10,500 lb winch
2 meter VHF antenna
Antenna mast and balun for HF antenna or CB whip - Coax fed into cabin

Over 22 mpg highway (without roof rack, cruising at 65 mph)

Great rig and great read. I love some of the lines you wrote. You must be a copy writer or just a smooth talker. Just sold mine to buy a GX470...BUT having serious sellers remorse. I'm in the Bay Area...and if you don't sell this before you split, I will be happy to host the rig for you until a buyer comes around JK (or I may take it). So tempted to piss the wife off : /

So one interested person asked for a bunch of detailed photos, and he seemed to think my calling the truck "Rust Free" was a little optimistic. I think he's probably got a point. I've included photos at www.fj60diesel.wordpress.com of some rust spots under the gutters, behind a front mud flap, and along a sheet metal crimp at the bottom of the driver side rear quarter panel.

Thanks... I think. Probably a smoother writer than talker. When we moved to Belize, I wrote a blog for a while to keep our friends back home up to date on what we were up to. Turned into kind of a fun hobby. Eventually got too busy to keep it up.

This is my dream rig. I don't have the funds at the moment, but if you somehow have it in 2-3 months I'll be calling.

Galen (yes, another one)

Wow, even after you wrote "(yes, another one)" I was still confused for a moment. Thanks for being in touch. If it isn't gone in 2-30 months, I'll be sure to let you know!

There probably aren't too many people named Galen into land cruisers, let alone diesel 60's. There are at least two, it seems!

I can't get over your rig. It is just perfect.

Best,
Galen Wachtman

This is a bad ass looking rig! My problem is, I have a built 80 series that, although in perfect daily driving/trail duty condition, I can't quit thinking that I need a 60 as my expo rig.

What is my problem, lol

Ok, so it is indeed sold. I sold it to a biodiesel guru friend of mine who jumped on it as soon as he found out it was for sale. He isn't 100% sure if he'll be keeping it, though, so if you're still interested, please monitor fj60diesel.wordpress.com for any updates during the coming weeks.

Thanks for all the interest,
Galen
