1983 Fj45 Clock dies when cigarette lighter used (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

Having a few issues with the factory clock, when the cigarette lighter is pressed the clock dies or dims, it will then flicker or stay off till the vehicle is restarted then randomly come back on. Ive checked lighter fuse and cleaned the contact points, any other ideas?

Male sure the lighter is grounded and not seeking a path to ground through the clock.
