I have diagrams that show the routing of the belts but not sure if the belts go under or over the idler pulleys for the P/S and factory A/C on 1983 BJ42???

Thanks'

It would take some creativity to put them on incorrectly. They are all belts with three pulleys as follows:
main belt: crank water pump, altenator
A/C belt: crank, A/C compressor, idler
Power Steering belt: crank, idler, power steering

Yes, main belt is nearest engine, A/C belt is next and the power steering belt is nearest the fan

Here you go Rob. My A/C is not going back on

Ok ok I admit it I wanted to show it off a little but I cannot help myself ... :whoops:

sweet, so you went with a clutch type waterpump as well? mine coming from AUS did not have a clutch type but i have one now. I just recently found out that my old water pump pulley does not fit the new clutch type pump? so I had to locate and order one.

Mine had it on from Aus. My old viscous was completely stuffed and I had to get new from Japan at ZAR 3.2K :frown:

Any BJ42 A/C parts are very easily sold. Don't toss them if you have them.

:princess: wants the AC to go back on so I wont toss it just yet ;)

I don't blame her!! I paid good money for A/C in my trucks and I'm NOT taking it off. It runs almost all the time here in Guatemala!

I hear you, as it is pretty hot around these parts also but my thinking was centered around giving the radiator max airflow for when I eventually find that elusive 13Bt manifold :hillbilly:

I personally wouldn't worry too much about that. As long as you have the required 4 core rad and your truck is in decent shape it can handle A/C and the turbo quite nicely. If you find the temperature climbing, as we do sometimes in Arizona when it's 115F outside and we're pulling a hill you can always shut off the A/C for a few minutes till you reach the top.
