I better not pass this up I know an H55 is in my LVs future. I’ll PM you

Hi Nathen

this will only fit a 1/79-1984 4# series ......

what year are you planning to install it in ?

It’s going to go into a 66 but this is easier/better I think than modifying my existing hump.

ok.....

just making sure you know its correct direct bolt up application date range thats all ]

This will still need a modification to the transfer case opening to fit H55F.

if someone uses 4 speed linkage .Yes

if 5 speed linkage ,......No

Is this the cover for the 40 series H55F or the 60 series H55f? I have 3 different covers for H55Fs. The angle on the lower left side is incorrect on all as far as fitting my 1980 tub.

PM incoming.

This is from a late model 40 series with H41 4 speed but a very close look and a good base for a H55F conversion. The transfer case opening had to be shifted down a bit.
I'll unbox mine and send you some photos.

here is another one i sold on mud recently too , 4# series 1984

This is the same as the one you have listed Matt. A good starting point to make it work for H55F.

Now to really confuse myself.....Somewhere here on Mud there was a post saying that if you installed a 40 series H55F into a 40 series that the original OEM 4 speed transmission cover would fit without modification. The issue is The H55F has 2 versions. The 40 series and the 60 series. The 40 series shifter is forward of where the 60 shifter is located.

Something to keep in mind is the H55F top cover only works if you have the mating transfer lever that runs thru the cover. Was playing around early this year of another option before heading out of town to avoid the madness of Covid 19. This one seems close. Working on a another option to move it forward to the four speed location.

This is a top cover for the H55F.
