I have a chance to purchase a front axle, from hub to hub and complete from a 1982 FJ60

I'd like to install it in my bone stock 1968 FJ45 w/3 speed

Beside brake lines, booster, etc:

1. Will this be a be a direct bolt in my 68 shackles and springs?
2. Will the newer front member companion flange fit right onto my front transaxle driveshaft?
3. What mods, if any, would be required?

Any quick responses is highly appreciated

Thanks

The spring perches on the FJ60 axle are not going to match that of your 45. You can choose to outboard the springs on your 45 or inboard the perches on the axle housing, both of which take serious amounts of fab and the inboard spring perches won't leave you 100% dialed in. Does your 68' by chance have birfs? What size are the mounting nuts on your differential? If it is a late 68 housing which runs birfs, you can just do a disc brake swap on your current housing. That gets you the better birfs and brakes but eliminates the issues with the pinion and width.
