do you have the small triangle bracket on the fire wall and the carburetor bracket and the rod that goes between ?

You know I’m not 100% sure, but I think that qualifies as Dave’s first tech post!

He is most certainly correct too. Instead of the usual ‘some assembly required’, this is a ‘some disassembly required’ situation. Gaskets and tubes on the insulator are often suspect too.

I’d be hard-pressed to get to the nuts on the two middle studs of the head without disassembly , so chances are everything has already been separated and it won’t take more than about 30 seconds to answer the question.

there are no cracks that i can see nor were there any exhaust leaks when it ran. If desired i can take more photos.

Reason these components were removed was to use the low mileage block for a earlier pre smog build.
