1980 FJ40 manual steer gear box

My manual gear box leaks and I am looking for someone to repair or rebuild. I am not having much luck on the search option.

i just bought a refresh kit from sor, and have the fsm . Going to give it a try myself.

I've rebuilt 3 of them in the last month, including a 79 factory PS box that went to a MUDer in TX, so Burbank is definitely one option.

If you are mechanically inclined, then as hedgehog suggests, you might want to consider taking on the rebuild yourself. If it's just a seal leak, you might even get away without having to disassemble the worm gear. Then it's not much more than a one banana job.

I have a couple here in Des Moines that I removed for power steering swaps... woth were working fine when removed.

Let me know if you'd be interested... i'll likely drive by on 29 (if it's dry) within a couple few weeks.
