Fixing up a '79 in Yemen - new parts not available

Has anyone made a replacement sill for a '79?

Seen the treads that cover the sills for the earlier years - any reason why something similar would work for a '79?

Lot's pf people make them: Pacol, Pilgrim, etc... check CCOT, SOR, eBay (cheapest).

Can you get 2"x3" square stock? We have made several of them out of square stock. Just cut holes with a cut-off wheel for the body mounts. Easy as cake.

the reason for the difference with the 79+ is the rear mounts are totally different then pre 79 years.

Cheers Hodag - just to confirm, you did these to 79+ wagons - does that mean that the 15mm deep channel on the outer edge of the sill is not massively important?
