1979 Land Cruiser in Costa Rica

I have purchased a Diesel unit and I am unclear as to what I have purchased. This the details of numbers on the unit:

BJ40034531 with the engine 1B-75

Could someone explain what these numbers mean?

I need some clarity so that I can buy parts here in the States and take them to Costa Rica and replace these parts I need.'&9

You have a BJ 40 with a B engine. I think you'll find more parts in Costa Rica though. Maybe Canada but probably not the US.

Very nice! CONGRATS welcome to the board.

This model was never sold in the USA, so as Wesintl says most likely will not find parts as easy in the usa.

But the dealers in the USA should be able to order what you need.

i would suggest a aftermarket oil pressure gauge as soon as possible. i have had a few "B" (not 3B) series engines seize with out any warning due to low oil pressure...

don't worry too much about parts in the USA vs. down here.... google LaGuacamaya Costa Rica. Lots of parts there. Also, Toyota (Purdy Motors) is pretty decent here.... usually. And the local mechanics can find you all sorts of things.
