Go ahead and insulate the heck out of the floor pan around the trans and the BH. Your feet will thank you later. 100s come with ~1/4" batting/insulation to fight the heat off.

Great success! Haha I’m pumped

Whoaaaa. Galvanic corrosion sucks.

I’m about ready to call this motor my “mock up” motor and buy another. Originally this was not going to be the motor I would use for the project.

I knew I should have made a new engine lift point😂

Still slowly working on this swap. Seeing if I can make an 80 series air filter housing fit inside my engine bay. I’ve included another picture of someone’s 2uz swapped 40 to show how little room they had for their intake

If I can make this fit around the top of the passenger side valve cover then I’ll build a heat shield for the underside of the air box. I really like the 80 air box since it’s a conical filter style with a secondary water/sediment canister built into the bottom.

If I can do anything to help lmk.

Copy paste from the thread in the 40 section.

Much closer. Trying to finish before Razorback Ramble next week. We’ll see… This process has really helped me appreciate when people have pristine builds. I just want to drive the dang thing!

Don’t worry. The power wires are just sitting there for now.

I've come to realize that most all truly pristine builds came from a shop where the wrencher was not the owner. Once an owner goes for the first test fire and the engine lights up, the rush is on, and the mess begins. I say this as the owner of a very functional yet "is that really a..."-inclusive engine bay.

Exciting, that is going to be fun. Where did you locate your battery?

It’s not in this picture but it’ll go left of the air cleaner. There is just enough space for me to fit a small battery there.

Yep, I’m there! I fully expect something to fail spectacularly IF I make it on this trip next week. That’s half the fun:)

I’m afraid this is a true reflection of my rig as well…

My threshold for taking the 40 to Hot Springs ORV was it had to drive onto the trailer. Unfortunately, I got it to start/run but couldn’t keep it running so I left it and went camping and jumped in with a fewer other cruiserheads while at Razorback Ramble. Great people, cool rigs and good memories!

Brought it back home today so I can forego the hour round trip to work on it in the evenings. Should make some better headway in the coming weeks. Trying to get it ready for my 2 yr olds “blue truck” birthday party. I had to pry him out of it tonight haha

Installed half of the wheel spacers (passenger side) while the kids napped today. I included a picture of the drive side looking down the side of the truck for reference on how much more the tires stick out on the passenger side now.

It’s ALIVE!!! We found the issue was a faulty key immobilizer sensor. For the first time in over a year and a half it moves under its own power! I still have a few items to button up but I should be able to take it for a spin within the next week.

I’ll upload a video. The exhaust sounds rowdy!

Awesome!! Congratulations!!
