That bedliner is a damn shame. Completely ruins the rig.
I've got one that's like that, I admit I'm pretty bummed I went that way. If I was going to do it again, I'd do a flat color like my Defender. For now I'm looking for a Blue one with original patina to build up. For the price though, it could be a fun driver for someone, and at least it looks like smurf blue.

Has anyone tried to remove bedliner material from a truck? It's definitely made to not come off easy.

I was told by two different builders it's not possible. Not worth the effort

Heat gun and a scrapper. It sucks.
I guess anything is possible if you do it yourself. But that's a huge scale of a job, on exterior. It's easier to buy a tub at some point. I have a Jeep JK with the coating, but it's done by Starwood. I love it, I never have to wash it and it's been out in the Vegas sun for 5 years and still looks new. But when I tried another company on my FJ, it's not the same. Starwood motors (and some others) know how to do it very well.

I thought bedliner was only out on the interior. It can be on the exterior too??

Check out Starwood Motors stuff, they were the first ones to really do a exterior that was nice. The FJ in my picture is what happens when someone takes like LineX and then paints it... not great. Then the Jeep is not, it's smooth and I get compliments all the time on it.
