I cant seem to find the specification for the fan belt (to alternator) on my HJ45 (year 1978) which I think needs replacing because the adjuster swing arms on the alternator are at full extension (so cannot be tightened any more) and the belt squeals a lot for a lot of the time. Dumb newbie point but I think I have the H engine since the year of manufacture is 1978. She's an Australian import to the UK. I've only owned her since August time.

Can anyone tell me the specification is for the belt I need? I cant find anything in the service book I have.

Also, can the belt be fitted without taking the fan off (ie is it long enough to go around the fan etc)?

Thanks a lot for your help

Ben

This is the part numbers , its most likely the top one . You should be able to get them cross referenced at a parts store There are no specs in the part manuals

90916-02065(09/1977 - 06/1980)1$34.67
99523-11152(04/1972 - 08/1977)

Put the number into google, lots for sale. Euro4x4parts are saying its 17mm x 1100mm

Usually you can slide the belt over one fan blade at time and then turn the fan and slide it over the next blade

thank you very much. I’ll try to find a UK supplier / the euro4x4 supplier has a non UK phone number but someone must have one in England! Really appreciate your help. Is there a parts number book listing all the parts or are you a professional?! Thanks again

Ill send you a PM
