Well I made it home. Picked up the Pig Friday morning and drove it up to the Colony area for lunch and then down to Lake Brownwood for the weekend. From there we drove into Brownwood a couple times and then on Sunday I drove it back to Midland (3.5 hours). I never ran her over 100Km/hr (62-65 mph) but was able to run the AC the entire time and she never got warm at all.

The guy at the shop in Dallas said the radiator had been recored from 3 core to a 2 core and that was our original problem. I'm guessing the previous owner in Nova Scotia had the opposite issues and wanted to keep it warm rather than keep it cool.

The shop also put an electric fan on front of the vehicle that kicks on when the condenser is on. I think I'll probably rewire that so that it comes on all the time. I don't see a point in having it cycle.on and off with the condenser.

I did decide about 3 hours into the trip I need to pull the bench seat out and put in buckets. My legs were killing me after the trip.

I see you also belong to the stexag club of civil disobedience with regard to vehicle licensing. Sticking it to the man. ;)

I was rocking a '19 until a few months ago while the 40 was under the knife.

On topic - if you think of it - post up some pics of the AC unit and under the hood. I'd love to see the install.

Well I got her all legal on Monday as you will see below. Also I've included some pics of the AC/radiator/fan setup and the vintage parts used.
