Hi I am new to the website and am starting to work on my 1978 fj55 that I've mostly had in my barn for 43 years.
Did drive it to Costa Rica and back ( 9 months ) in the mid 80's.
Looking to replace the stock shocks which still work, with some better ones (Bilstien, Rancho, KYB??)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Cool, truck. Drop down into the 55 section.

I am sure there are some 55 guys around, but you could remove a shock and measure full extension and compression. Assuming the existing units fit.

Yea thought of that, but wouldn't it be nice to have the shocks ready to go?
