My buddy Mike is a lifelong paint and body guy. He is the manager at a semi truck shop and was kind enough to burn a vacation day to make a house call on Mustard. He’s the same guy that did all the paint correction on John’s other 45 project 👉 Rotunda

He’s going to match the floors.

While he’s taping I’m making fat stacks with some cool experimental Mosley Motors aluminum

Finished up The Delta Beast and am trying to decide where to start on this Mustard project. Tomorrow I’ll decide and get rolling

One month and 175 or so hours later here is the current state of affairs.

Exhaust guy snuck over today at some point and took the main tube and went to his secret lair.

Interior has a fresh coat of paint on the floor. Now I have to polish up the sides to match it before the interior can go back in.

@Ratboy from Classic Cruisers sent me a 85-87 FJ60 crossmember which is going to work much better than the 80-84 3 piece member. Once that is installed I can remove my pipe this is suspending the rear of the motor and put the tank and hump in

To Do

Wiring. Lots.
Install and plumb the Sniper. (arrived today)
Install driveshafts (arrive tomorrow)
Polish paint
Finish exhaust

It’s coming along. TONs done….and a couple more really awesome items that are still in boxes yet to come.

Does the exhaust witch from Mordor have a name?

Yea maybe if it were 1988 and we were sticking a 350 in it. I envision you sporting a mullet.
I have a friend who once had a coffee table mullet book. There was the joe dirt mullet, the camaro mullet, the trans am mullet, etc.
I don’t recall seeing a Land cruiser mullet. Maybe @wngrog is up for it.

The only proper way is with the air gun they provide.

This took a gallon. I’ll let it sit a while and hit it with another gallon to make it nice and quiet.

This stuff is amazing. It’s not good for a bedliner. It’s rubberized but for undercoating I’ve found it to be fantastic. No bedliner has the heat and sound properties this stuff has. I remember when I sprayed it under Project Patina the floor at the gas pedal cooled almost 20 degrees.
Looking at doing lizard skin on Louie under the floor mat or should I go the extra mile and spray on the underside. There are two types on amazon, ceramic insulation and sound control. I assume you are using the ceramic insulation, Correct?

You have to do Sound Control first (or only)

I’ve done both but personally can’t tell much difference in 2 coats of sound versus one coat of each but I have been known to build a knuckle withiut a torque wrench too….

Random goings on as I wait for the tig nazi to arrive

Cruiser Outfitters intake protector came in

Mounted the EPS adjuster knob here. No real reason to have it visible. I can’t see this being something you mess with a lot.

One more post before Mud fully dies …..

The wizard de-polished the exhaust to match the cat and muffler with some soap and scotchbrite

I have been trying to find a good use for this exhaust cap and this bend will make it perfect

I think Red would have him sleeping outside if he did that...
