----------------------------------

This is a 1978 Toyota FJ40 Landcruiser. Prior restoration done around 2010. Inline 6 cyl. engine and 4 speed manual transmission. Interior is in great condition. Everything works and has current Va. State Inspection. 33” BF Goodrich tires on white wagon style wheel. Spare matches the others. There are several areas on the body in need of attention where the paint is bubbling up. The frame and underneath are extremely solid. Truck is extremely reliable mechanically.
Original 2F engine. Recently rebuilt carb, rebuilt master cylinder and valve job. New gas filter and lines. New brakes. Recent floor panels replaced. Original steering wheel and gauges. Relatively new head liner and gas tank replaced.
Very well cared for. Simply not driving it enough to keep.
Have rear tailgate and windshield mount mirrors for when the top is removed.
Serious inquiries only. If ad is up, then it’s still available. Don’t simply ask if I still have it.
This is your chance to own a collectable, which will continue to appreciate.
804 – four hundred – 69 zero three.
Thanks for looking.

Decent from far, but far from decent

How does the rear sill seem to survive but the front bib gets hit? I've never seen rust in that area.

Here is sellers response to questions I emailed:

“I’m not a member of ih8mud.

I’ve owned it 2 1/2 years. Simply don’t drive it enough to justify it at this point.

The owner before me was in Miami. He had the truck @ 6 years and had it shipped from Oregon where a previous owner did some restoration work.

Prior color was red and my guess is it was painted around 9-10 years ago.

I had an estimate from Maaco to paint and fix the rust areas and it was $1800, with a 5yr. Warranty. They’d use some filler and not cut it out completely. Cost of painting alone can vary widely. Someone told me better to not get a recent paint and sell as it is so next owner would know the shape of the body.

The top was replaced by the owner in Miami. I don’t know what year the top is but it had a new headliner installed then too. “

This has been on CL for a few weeks. Makes you wonder what else is underneath the paint. Looks like normal rust spots painted over!
