Even 19K is out of my price range so that's great. I have to stop buying cruisers and keep building the ones I have so some day they can be back on the road. What hurts the most is when a basket case, rust-bucket comes up for $500 and it's within a couple hundred miles. Then I have to go save it. I probably need cruiser therapy or something.

I am going to look at it next Monday the 2nd. I'll let you all know how it looks in person. I talked to the owner, it runs and drives good, has some bondo on the door bottoms and rear quarters and sill. Leaks a small amount of oil. Owner was real nice to talk with and honest from what I can tell.

All, just posting an update.

I went to look at this 40 yesterday. The owner was great guy and had several nice classic cars, a true gentleman. The 40 looks nice, runs, drives and stops well. Unfortunately, the body work done in the late 90's consisted of someone welding in diamond plate type material on all the floors and even possibly over them. (Deal breaker for me) The original tub lines below the doors and also the rear sill were also not visible leading me to believe bondo was present. For the right price, it could make a nice driver for someone, like I said the owner was a great guy.

Another update, the owner just texted me it sold this afternoon.
