I am in the hunt for my first FJ40 with a budget of around $20,000. I am in the Cincinnati area but am will to travel for the right truck.
If anyone out there has one for sale or knows of one please let me know.
Thanks

What about condition? I don't see many non rust runners that are not completely modified for around $20k anymore

Frame doors and floors are what concerns me the most. I understand I won’t get a perfect 40 for 20k and don’t mind doing some work on it.
Thanks again for any help

hmm you mean doors, floors and rear sill really don't see many with frame issues

Sure
Doors, floors and rear sill plus frame. I live in the midwest and here we have problems with the salt roting out frames. Just trying to avoid that as well.

As a baseline, does rusty rear quarters and sill like this scare you away?

It shouldn't. If you want a rust free truck you're likely going to need to increase your budget and likely have to travel to the US southwest for a rust-free truck. There are A LOT of solid trucks that have rusted sill's. Both of my California FJ40's have rust in the sill and rust in the rockers. Literally no rust elsewhere. As long as the frame, floors, wheelwells, etc aren't rotted out, I would not let a little sill or quarter panel or rocker rust scare you from a truck. Also, a clean sill and clean quarters also do not mean the truck is clean or original......

Honestly, this looks like a great truck within your budget.

Exactly. The rest of the rig is surprisingly rust free. Spent most of its life in northern AZ and southern NV. They ain't makin' em anymore!
