1975 FJ40 disk brake question (1 Viewer)

I have a 1975 FJ40 that has the F@ engine with amby rear doors , but my front brakes are drum. Is this possible that they are stock? I thought the engine, rear doors, and brakes were all upgrades that happened at once. Possible axle swap? Production date is August of 1975

My brake booster/master cylinder has a sticker that says its for use with disk brakes? Can I just swap in an Axle with disks from a later year? Anything special I would need to do? Will the drive line and suspension be compatible ?

Why don't you just do a disk brake conversion? Costs the same and less work.

I have a '75 too. I did a mini truck with new FJ60 rotors and 4Runner V6 calipers. So no kit needed just go to a junkyard and wrench away...

Is it that simple on the rear conversion? From all the posts I have read it seems it lot more complicated.
