This brand new carburetor was put in this FJ40 about 10 years ago. It was never ran with this on as far as I know.

Using this carb identifier I discovered it is a 1975 specific carburetor.

I’m curious if I can make it work in my grandpa’s 74. I don’t know anything about carburetors but I assume since this was probably made to go on a 2F engine it won’t work on the F engine.

I just got the original carburetor from this land cruiser and it’s in pretty rough shape.

It came with this cool Marlboro performance gasket installed on it. I’m assuming the carb on the engine won’t work and I should start learning how to rebuild a carburetor.

take it apart, soak in carb dip overnight. Then re-assess. Carb kits are available from many sources. I used Cruiser Outfitters. Some of their kits include jets. You have to call and ask them to look at the label on the kit to find the ones with jets.

Berryman's dip is at most auto parts stores. Works wonders!

You can also look at full pics of the kit contents on our CruiserTeq website:

We don't have all of the jet sizes listed but we do plan to show that for kits containing jets.

Great point. The actual picture is of the kit sold. Good stuff. Very important to know that you’ve got kits with slow jets in them. I know of no other source for them.
