It’s a rough day for me, but with 3 kiddos under 10, it’s time to let someone else take this Cruiser and use it as it was intended. Up for sale is a 1974 Land Cruiser. I’m not the most mechanical guy there is, but I can answer questions as best I can. Specs are below:

Year: 1974
Make: Toyota
Model: Land Cruiser FJ 40
Color: Brown (I don’t believe it’s the original color)
Miles: 22,000 (the odometer has never turned over on this, so it’s not accurate)
Runs: Good - It starts and idles well. There is a ground somewhere that drains the battery if it sits for long. It also has to be choked to start it.
Also: I do have the top and doors and can send pictures of them if someone is interested
Price: $22,500

Feel free to reach out with question. Four-three-two-413-six-four-8-three

Looks like Dune Beige original color. Please share lots more pictures to include dash, interior, engine bay, and underneath. Do you have the hard top and doors?

I really like those recovered seats. Can you share what fabric you used?

Yes, I have the hard top and doors. I’m working to get more pictures uploaded. I thought it had sold, but haven’t heard from the buyer in a few days. I‘m not sure on the seat covers. They were this way when i bought it.

Can you post pictures of any noteworthy rust on the truck?

How is the condition of the hard top and doors?

With regard to the rust, I’ll get it out in the light and look for some. I’m sure there’s some on a vehicle of this age. Below are pictures of the top and doors

All- I’ve been out of town for a few days. I’ve attached a picture of the engine bay. I’ll get out and get some of the undercarriage when it’s not 1,000 degrees in the garage. Don’t be shy about shooting me an offer. I’d like to get this out of my garage….

I finally was able to go to the shop and get the top. I recruited the kids from next door and it’s on. Next is the door, but at least they‘re on campus. Price lowered to $19,000 OBO

I'll have some help this weekend, so it'll all be assembled. Looking to make a deal to free up some garage space for another ride.

Feel free to shoot me some offers.

I had a FJ “guy’ come and do a thorough inspection. He originally was looking to buy it, but it was not the project he was looking for. He started it, drove it, and let it idle for 20-30 mins. There were zero leaks. Minimal rust. He put a magnet all over the exterior and found a small amount of repairs to the back driver quarter. Additionally, he checked all the cylinder. They were all either 90 or 100 psi. Overall, he called it a really nice FJ. The aftermarket paint job, and subsequent expense to remove it was a deterrent for his project style. He spent around an hour looking and inspecting.

He then told me it’s a $15,000 ride, so that’s where I’m pricing it.

Have a great weekend.
