Hey Mud gang! As social media continues to morph into advertisements, tik tok videos and mindless reels I’ve decided to focus my internet time on forums like the good old days.

I wanted to share my 74 Fj40 project I’ve been picking away at for a few years now.
The previous owner broke the shifter off and so it sat in a field for 17 years until I bought it.

Nice 74’ … I also have a 74’ … great year … great engine

I see you have the cold weather door cards on your 74’ … are they in good shape ? You will not find them new anywhere … somewhat rare being yours is a 74 with the plastic pulls even

Coming along nicely

The door cards were scrap unfortunately. I don’t think they would be hard to re creat though.

No not hard to recreate… the trim pieces are hard to make and find … did your cards still have them ?

Top piece and piece around inner door latch … and the plastic door pulls
All I have is what’s attached to the doors still. Looks like a metal rail at the top…this won’t see much cold weather action anyway so I’ll probably leave the doors bare.

I can see that those are the older split rim wheels. Are they 16" wheels? What size are your tires? (the vintage looking mud grip ones) They look really good.
Those are 16” oem split rims and bias rubber take offs from mine trucks. They measure around 32” tall. I borrowed them from a friend for mock-up. They look amazing but ride terrible.

Thanks! I bet they do ride terrible. Never the less, that's the exact look I'm going for.
