Hello all,

I’m currently working on a 1974 FJ40 frame-off resto. Everything has been going pretty well until I found a suspicious push rod on my clutch release cylinder. It appears to have been welded on (possibly has been lengthened in the passed). I was curious if anyone has the proper length of pushrod #1. I’ll attach photos. Thank you for the help

74 can be wierd year. Do you have the 4 speed transmission? Diaphragm or 3 finger pressure plate? Clutch fork is different between the two and used different clutch pushrods

I have a 72 FJ40 and that's exactly the push rod/nut in mine. Yesterday I put in my new master and slave cylinder plus stainless hose I got off ebay $130 delivered. I used that nut on the new rod to get the length as what was there. I had to reuse the fitting on the master rod to attach to the clutch pedal. I an sort of excited to get "Elsie" back on the road - she was my first car in 1982. Now to get and learn to use a sheet metal welder.
