Ford 1974 F250 SHORTIE CREW RESTO-MOD BUILD - (2020 F250 TREMOR 4X4 CHASSIS SWAP)

Getting started on this build.

2020 F250 Tremor chassis swap. 7.3L Godzilla, 2023 6.7L HO POWERSTROKE- 10R140 Trans and E-transfer case with rear E-locker swap.

1974 F250 Crewcab short bed.

First up was to replace the top of the cab. Looked like a herd of drunk gals jumped up and down up there and ruined the top and inner structure. The PO welded some angle iron and used foam to try and repair.

Grafting a newer model with ridges for a stronger solution.

Stripped the donor top, cut out and fully welded and then body work.

Getting into the body on this.. WOW! body filler and the s***tiest body work I've seen in quite awhile.

All the lower doors were spot welded in with flat plate and then filled over and shaped.

Seriously there was up to 5/8" of body filler in some places and I'd have to say the average was 1/4" -3/8".

Only thing on the bed that was salvageable was the floor.

Straightening and body work on the new aftermarket stamped parts. Relocating the filler neck forward to align with the Tremor tank location.

Cab, doors and fenders are finished and in primer.

NOT SAME TRUCK!! This is a rare F28 model

We just finished this trucks twin and went to SEMA and placed TOP 10 in the Battle of the Builders event for the 2nd year back to back.

Rolled the chassis into the fabshop to strip off the parts not needed for the build.

Prepping to cut and shorten the chassis to 150.3" to match the '74 wheelbase.

Chassis is prepped.

Marked out, cut, chopped, shortened and welded back together.

Next up.. Set the cab and body and make new body mounts.

Got the body mocked up on the chassis. Now to make the body mounts and move on to other parts of the build.

Since this will be a stock swap and a " show/display" company truck the stock fueling will stay in place.

Interested to see how you tackle firewall clearance for the 6.7. Not sure if it's an issue on dentsides but I know it is on bumpsides.

If need be; I'll fabricate a new portion of the firewall. No problem doing that.
