Hi My 1973 FJ 40 has a weber carb with auto choke It starts up and idles great when cold.

After a mile or so it begins to buck and lose power to the point that the gas pedal feels dead. It will restart after cranking for 5-10 secs and drive for about 200 yds and do it again over and over

I put a new coil, inline filter, electric fuel pump None of these made any difference.

I want to go back to the original set up but I don't know who the experts are with the fj40s Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Check vacuum on intake manifold with a vacuum gauge. You might have a vacuum leak. You can also spray carb cleaner at the base of carb and intake to see if rpms change at idle. This will tell you whether a vac leak exists.
