Here's an original Toyota Motor vinyl tool roll with vintage Toyota tools. This kit was supplied with FJ40 and FJ55 Land Cruisers from 1972 through early model-year 1974. Detailed descriptions and photos follow.

Delete…you seems to have researched this. Carry on. I purchased one last week same vintage. Same price but not quite as nice as this set. Nice work.

If you have an extra long Phillips my kit is missing that

74 did not have this but 71-9/73 did.

Tool Box under the seat years

I thought that as well. But found a few early model-year 74s that claimed to have this kit as original equipment. These were Oct/Nov 73 build dates. So perhaps Toyota was using up the older tool roll kits before switching to the tool bags. Or maybe the tool kit change was done Feb 74 (mid-year for a normal model year). Later 74 builds all seem to have the dark green tool bag instead.

Interesting that the 73 Owner's Manual has a diagram of the kit and lists each tool. But the 74 manual does not have a similar diagram or list of tools. Like the manual writers knew the kit was changing. But rather than list details of one or the other and be wrong for part of the time, they decided to omit the tool kit details altogether. The 74 manual does include a drawing of a tool roll secured by 2 straps under the seat, while the 75 manual shows a tool bag held by 1 strap.

Thanks for the comment. I'm updating the ad to reflect that this kit appeared only in early 74 models.
