Any thoughts?

I always appreciate hearing if 40's are priced fair based on the photos.

I am actively looking for a '79 (but open on other years) that would instantly be an every day driver (under 3000 miles per year) that is mostly original and could slowly be upgraded keeping as original as possible.

"Unrestored and unmolested" is 100% misrepresentation. This truck has had paint done, probably more than once. You have black sprayed on the interior, white inside the engine bay and red exterior. Weber carb and headers are present so modification (though not detrimental) are easily identified. Proceed with skepticism.

This one has rust in usual spaces per the photographs - rear quarter panel, rear sill. The carpet covers floorboards so condition isn't known there. If you're looking to build out a pristine restoration, unless you're skilled at metal fab, it will take a decent investment.

Good points.

I know enough to know that I don't know enough!

I understand any fj40 I pick up will need work to get it to the condition I dream of. I also understand that will take money and time.
