My two sons drove this 1970 fj55 through highschool and it’s been there daily driver. Unfortunately I need to sell it cause my other kids don’t want to drive it. It’s been surfing at san Onofre almost every day for last 5-6 years. So the saltwater has caused some rust on roof. But it’s in good shape. Call me or better text me if interested. I’m looking to get 10k for it which my mechanic offered me (one of his other customers offered to buy it). 949-547-0238

My mechanic is trying to find the guy who wanted it right now. A guy offered it while it was in his shop. What is your all’s advice on what it’s worth? I have no idea

It’s worth as much as you can sell it for... ask high and be willing to walk downhill

No hard feelings man, but somebody is blowing smoke. My parts wagon was $1200 and a lot better shape than yours. like P.T. Barnum said, there's one born every second, so try it you can always come down or sell parts off of it.

Dibbs on the tailgate handle. :)

fj55s are VERy weird... the market doesn't have a choice but to follow... it takes a pretty sick individual to see the beauty in these old hogs. if you don't have to sell it, keep cleaning it up here and there and between time, inflation, and elbow grease, could be worth more. Not sure of your drivetrain condition, but if it were sound, with that body, you could maybe ask 5-7.5K. Mine is pretty chopped up, but in pretty good mechanical nic, and I'm hoping to get about that, and mine isn't quite so rusty... as I said, ask high, and be willing to take less.

Seat upholstery, door panels and Grateful Dead sticker alone are worth at least $1,000. Other than the roof rust doesn't look so bad-hard to say with the really awful looking black paint.
