1969 steerung gear box removal (1 Viewer)

I checked out FA&Q did not see any thing on the older boxes without a rag joint. steering wheel is off outer sleeve is slid forward, is the main sterring shaft just compressed from here ?ahy would be greatly appreciated!

if it's similar to a '72 one-piece box, you need to take the bracket off from under the dash to release the column - the box comes out together with the column as one piece
