What part of Houston? I’m down in SE Houston, near Ellington.
Right in town. Bunch of LC’s were in Friendswood installing a 4spd in a 60.

Maybe it is 41k original miles. Starting to work on horn and the brush has very little wear. Either replaced, drove in straight line for 141k, or 41k miles.

Well continue with Maintance. Added OEM air filter yesterday (@Onur) and continued to sort thru horns. Think the relay is shot, I have 12 volts at “B” terminal, but no click (@Coolerman horn post).

having seat belts made thru seatbelt planet. Doing red with black lift buckles.

looks like factory pins and keeper chains in driver seat.

Horns work.

Running much better. Have my standby @cityracer carb on now. Also replaced oil lines to filter. Little blowout last week.
Plus picked seatbelts.

Quick update, lots has been done. Changed some fluids in diffs yesterday and been working on adjusting drums. Quick new clutch hose tonight. Waiting for rain to stop!

Started to rebuild the winch. Pillow block back everything seems good. Needed to see how the winch itself looked. Been a long time since someone was in there. Will be a few days project. Started to get a few things done tonight.

Nice progress.

Doing the 81110-60P70 upgrade?
Thanks Onur, I have a kit in storage. Like it. These don’t light up much. I need to get better with part numbers.

Winch back together. FIPG dried overnight, will fill with GL4 today. Will need new cable and chain is toast. Lots of links with deep nicks. Love the patina looks of the chain, but if I ever need to use this thing, will need a better one. Bearings, races and seals on worm gear and new shear pin.

How did you hook up the carb with the cable throttle? Which color belt did you choose? Light or dark? I have a 72 FST I just got but have yet to post up. It’s a survivor like yours. Nice work and I appreciate the great info you are providing to help me along the way.

Curious did you ever figure out the horn? Relay has twelve volts all the time. The coil needs the ground made in the horn button to complete the circuit. When that happens twelve volts is fed to the horns themselves.

Where did you get seatbelts from? Where you able to replicate oem color and buckles?

Keep up the good work!
Seatbelt Planet. Arrive tomorrow. @FJ40GURU has some but would have needed to still find for the rear. So just did all aftermarket. Will post pics once installed.

Went with the slightly darker red, but still red. Belts arrive tomorrow. Will post pics. Red is the true color, thought it would look off with the Patina.
There is a bracket that holds the throttle, and hand throttle cables. The actual cable is attached to the linkage on carb by a barrel swivel. You can see it in photo I just took.

Yes, I did figure out the horns. The pin on the back of the horn plate was gone. I made one. The spring mounts on that. You can see a picture earlier in the thread.

Had a cracked exhaust manifold since I purchased. Fortunately the motor was replaced at one time with a late 1970 block. MUCH easier to find manifolds for! A few pics.
Also filled the winch after setting overnight. No leaks so far! Good weekend of projects.
