I'm thinking that I'll want the wipers on my LV to actually work WELL once I get it on the road (that's not going to be soon but I'm thinking ahead).

Has anyone done anything special to significantly improve wiper performance on their LV? I'll clean/lube the motors and mechanisms of course, replace blades and adjust arms as best I can but I was wondering if there was a "better" way to go...? maybe some aftermarket/hot rod etc system...?

Crap... I did it again... I posted this in the classifieds section - THANK YOU MOD for moving it.... arrrgghhh....

I did a little more research and there ARE some hot rod / universal wiper kits out there in the $200-300 range... not TERRIBLE if it yields good working modern wipers...

A PO, probably the OO, installed a giant GM wiper motor in mine. Had to cut a giant hole in the firewall. I don't know how it worked as it was excised and thrown in the bushes with emphasis and disgust.

I have a later model cruiser 2 speed in it now with the knob modified to look like stock, but perform like the late model. It's not much better than stock. It works poorly and very poorly.

Mr. Toyoda rightly believed that the LV doesn't deserve to be driven in inclimate weather. The wipers are there for surprises and moments of poor judgement and work just poorly enough to serve as a reminder not to do that again.

Yeah... I'm trying to one up Mr. T in this case... I'm actually PLANNING on driving this LV once it is "done"...
