I thought I understood this but... I'm trying to replace a PO nightmare of a gas pedal with a stock on I scored here on mud. The engine and carb are a straight 6 chevy.

The old "pedal" (actually just a steel rod) "worked"-ish... the stock one is somehow reversed - pulling the rod to the carb rather than pushing it... I'm going to put the old one back to see why it worked but I thought it would be useful to see a stock install picture or 6.... anyone?

Here's the problem... the PO thing caused the through-the-firewall rod to rotate the opposite way from the stock arrangement... the carb linkages are different from the F carb so this is necessary. I'm going to see if I can fab a lever to reverse the direction on the engine bay side.

Ok... rotated the lever on the firewall from up to down, effectively changing the direction it moves the rod to the carb when the stock pedal is pressed down. I bent the rod rod in a frightening curve to get from that lever to the linkage on the carb.... Please note: this is temporary as I have grand engine swap plans... this is just to get it so I can move it around under its own power...
