Jack Pressler has a line on a 1966 FJ40 w/hardtop. Sounds like it is a project but not a basket case. Radiator and battery are out of the truck so it doesn't run. All glass is OK. No "obvious" rust. Has front split seats and rear jump seats. Engine is a 235 Chevy I6. I forgot to ask if it has a good title. Has 4 wheels and tires but they are not on the truck.

Owner is asking $1,000 OBO. Get in touch with Jack for the contact information.

Nothing that isn't fixable with time and money :grinpimp:

Unless you are looking for a restoration candidate, $1000 is a lot for something that will need to be rebuilt for wheeling. Plus, who knows what got hacked to drop in the Chebby engine.

$1000 is a lot

OBO opens the door for a skilled negotiator. All it needs is someone to love and care for it. It is, after all, a Land Cruiser. I'd bet David L. could haul that thing off for $250 or so. Put $500 in new and used parts, and sell it on eBay (or to Greg) for $6K. Visualize Success. All you need is a 6x12 spot on the ground for it to rest while you fix it up.

Gorman? Bueler? Gorman? Anyone?

Skipper? Are you about ready to turn another FJ40?

Scar? Don't you need one to call your own?

Shawn? We've seen what you did with the FJ45 and Bionic. This could be Bionicle.

Onur? You've been looking for a sub-1K DD. This could be the DD of your dreams.

DD issue resolved yesterday--1992 Saab 9000....

;)

Rory told me that I would look good to the hippie chicks in a Saab....I didn't disagree.

Oh... you got a Saab. I thought you were calling it a SOB. Must be your strange accent. Is it pronounced Saab as in rhyming with scab or Saab as in rhyming with sob?

Rory told me that I would look good to the hippie chicks in a Saab....I didn't disagree.

What would Rory know about how to make you look good? Just curious.

I think you will find that NM chicks are somewhat more sophisticated than to be impressed with a 15 year old 4-door sedan that looks as exciting as a bad rash. (nb - All rules are off in Espanola... the chicks there are attracted to bizarre vehicles.)

Is Rory the new self appointed style consultant for the cruiser group? If so, maybe he could get himself a show called Rory's Eye for the LC Guy.:flipoff2:

Fixed it. Hey Rory! I'm not having much luck with the ladies. I could use your help. Keep in mind that if you are talking about body style, you are OK. If you are talking about vehicle style, then Beo and Greg might have an issue. They have dibbs on vehicle pimping ... er, accessorizing (is that a word?).

Greg and I specialize in interiors; you know... color coordination, material selection, fit & finish, and overall quality and function of the interior.

Rory can have the outside pimping job as long as he stays away from my other specialty which is paint protection products. Greg and Onur have clearly demonstrated that their idea of paint protection and my idea of paint protection are worlds apart. :D

The good thing is that I never have to worry about the clear coat coming off!

:flipoff2:

That said, my roof is a whole another story....

:crybaby:

Speaking of paint protection products... there is actually a company that came out with magnetic paint savers for the FJ Cruiser..... how many jokes would be made at my expense if I showed up at an event with these things covering my rig? I mean... its not like I would be wrapping my truck in bubble wrap.... :bounce:

..... how many jokes would be made at my expense

A LOT, and those jokes will go on for many years. My recommendation would be to destroy all photographic evidence before you allow anyone to leave the trail. Even those that promised... crossed their hearts and hope to die... shook hands on it... man-to-man promises... threat of death promises...

These so-called friends have publicly posted the pictures so many times that I cannot remember, so you have been warned.

Yours is beginning to look like a beater now so I wouldn't worry about protecting what's left of the paint. :D
