1961 Toyota Landcruiser FJ-40 4x4 -Extremely Rare
Known as the worlds best, go anywhere, most reliable, 4x4 off road vehicle!
This is one of only 249 Landcruisers that was shipped to the United Sates in 1961, only a few are known to still exist.
She has been very sympathetically restored, was very clean and rust free to start with.
Motor has been correctly upgraded to the highly desireable 4.2L inline 6 "2F" with upgraded 4 speed manual transmission. Motor, transmission and 4 wheel drive work flawlessly.
She has new Cardinal Red paint inside and out. Front seats have new foam and have been reupholestered in the original color. Rear jump seats are original in great condition. New headliner and floor mats have also been added. Tires and brakes are 80% plus. All glass is in great shape.

She looks and runs fantastic, and can be driven anywhere!
This landcruiser would be a perfect addition to any collection or in a museum..yes, shes that rare!

Never knew the 4.2L straight 6 was "highly desirable" until now. :)

So original and rare that I drilled holes in the floor to install a non-original roll bar... Also, why no pics with the back lift gate closed?

My biggest issue, the paint job color and matching air filter

paint doesn't look very good to my untrained eye
Is that the fuse block under the dash that's painted red as well? What about the glove box I didn't know those were body color

Folks can do whatever they wish to their trucks, but to call this one "VERY sympathetically restored" with "upgraded..."2F"', "upgraded 4 speed," etc., I guess I'm not very sympathetic when potential buyers run the other way from this "museum" restoration.
