Hi All!

I am new to the forum, but an avid LC fan and auto enthusiast.

I have a one owner, Lexus of Charleston maintained 2003 126k mile 100 Series LX470 Blue Vapor with Rola Rack and Crossbars.

Looking to add my favorite BFG K02 285/70 with 17" wheels.

I have done quite a few searches and read many posts with some conflicting opinions on the Method NV/BFG combo in 17" with the zero offset.

It seems the obvious best choice is the XD Holeshot with +35 offset, but I really dig the Method NV and they are in stock.

I would really appreciate your thoughts on this set up.

Better pics of my LX470 coming soon :)

Thanks so much,

Tom

0 offset mainly for visual results and street use, +25 if you plan to flex it.

Thank you!

I don't plan to rock crawl, though I am off road in the sand/beach quite a bit and will use the truck for camping, towing, etc. Meaning I use the 4x4 and I am outdoors a lot, not a city or for looks rig.

...with that said it is my everyday driver and I am often showing real estate clients around the Island where I live.

The LX470 is a good balance of fun/work for me.

My main concern is to not have the tire extend too much beyond the fender and not having to mod the vehicle for rub...

+25

I have 0 offset Methods on my 200 with 285 70 17's & plan to switch back to +25 Icons or Method 703's at +35 for better handling. Running 285/65/18 BFG KO2's on Method 18x9 +25 on my 100 & love it, highly recommend. I would not recommend 0 offset. It sure looks great but definitely has some drawbacks. BTW you will likely have to modify the front caps to compensate for the grease cap on the 100 series trucks. maybe 0 offset would clear? I used a stepped bit to drill a small hole for the grease cap to clear but it looked really cool without them as well.

Zero and negative offset for that prerunner look. Slings mud too on the sides.

If it was the 80 series then zero is perfect.

I went the Icons after a ton of research... Awaiting the wheels from Custom Offset, will post a pic once they arrival. Much appreciation for all the advice :)

Sort of off topic but would 285/75/17's (34's) fit with a pinch weld mod on a stock height LX with 17x8 +30 wheels? I'm running 285/70/17's (33's) right now just fine with no pinch weld mod.

I'm looking at these for an '06 LX 470...seems like they should work even though they are a little short of the 25 range for the offset?

Will it work.....depends on a lot of factors on your truck eg how modified it is, or you are willing to take it. Also highly dependent on your tire size. It will work but again you may have to modify or change a few things. Is it ideal? As mentioned above +25 & higher seems to be the sweet spot. I am running +0 on my 200 & +25 on my 100....I plan to swap the 0 offset wheels for something less aggressive. I do not have rub on my 0 offset wheels however I do not like the handling.
