Yup, I got a pair of Tred Pros as we'll be solo as well. Also, have a shovel of course and air compressor. I've driven on beaches in other vehicles, just wasn't sure the best way to tackle it in a GX since they have a pretty "smart" 4wd system. I do have MTS which has a sand mode that I may try out.

The GX and 4Runner do quite well on the soft sandy beaches, we drive ours on the beach here nearly every week. Sometimes we don't even need 4WD engaged until it gets really deep. I have tried the Sand mode on the MTS and honestly I can't tell a bit of different with it engaged and that includes when we go into the back lakes via the soft dune entrances.

Since there are others posting 5th gen 4Runners I'll do the same. My SR5P...with pro badging. Adding a factory elocker this fall.

Hi there, new guy to the forum, and new guy to the 4x4 world - 2010 4Runner Limited with 171K miles:

Form the pre-purchase inspection, it needs new shocks (front ones already leaking), so I will be replacing the whole x-reas system with Bilsteins 5100's front/back (with no lift).

Traded in my '07 FJ and got something way more family friendly. '19 TRD offroad w/kdss. Drove it stock for a bit including some offroading and annoying skid scraping due to front end dive.

Now with 2" lift from Falcon shocks, 275/70-r17 K02s and SCS ray 10's. Had some tire rub and got the wheel well liners pushed forward and fenders trimmed to fix that. Only had a chance to do some very light wheeling (FS road with mega potholes and a little loamy forest) but it's 1000% better without the front end dive.

So I finished my roof rack lights and ARB twin compressor setup. Just need to add my rear locker and should be done. Anyone running falken rubitrek or at3s on their vehicle? Thinking of switching from ko2s

The load out for recent family trip to Co.

I've been a member here for a long time, but don't remember ever posting a pic of my setup. 2011 T4R, lots of mods, pulling a Mission Overland trailer. I'm working on the plans for doing the Heart of the West Loop (2,800 miles mostly dirt and gravel) this fall with a couple other retired old farts. That is SWMBO behind the wheel.

Love'n the trailer. I want to build my own overland trailer but I have no room to store it and I don't want a monthly fee to keep it in storage.

I just purchased the tracks and map for Tony Huegel's "Heart of the West" loop. There will be two other vehicles accompanying me. A total of five people. We'll be starting out the beginning of September and will be taking somewhere between 17 - 21 days to do it. Nice and easy like. Here is another pic of my T4R and Mission Overland trailer that I will be taking. Should be the experience of a lifetime.

Now that my garage floor has been refinished. Installing RCI rock sliders tomorrow after work. Coronavirus killed our trip to western and central Nebraska for a mini overlanding trip.

So I finally got my rock sliders on. Was an easy job...it was suppose to be for our trip to western and central Nebraska but that got cancelled. Thanks a lot Obam...I mean coronavirus.
