15" rims on 1997 DX?

I've got a 97 DX with 16" splits on it at the moment. Looking at a set of 15" steel rims, but I seem to recall reading somewhere a while ago that 15" rims wont fit on the 97 because of larger rear discs - is this correct?

yep thats right the rear are bigger, you can grind some off the caliper, thats what most do

Yes, what you read is correct, 15's won't clear the rear callipers.

They only miss by a couple of mm. I know because my PO had put a set on and f&*^%d up the callipers.
