This 45 is no longer for sale. It is getting a resurrection of some sort. The body and drive train are being sold in the classifieds.

Edit:3/28/19, I took it to a shop to have the engine tuned. It is running good and drives without issue. They also put it on a dyno and it currently put out 237 HP and 296 Torque to the rear wheels in 2nd gear. New asking price is 16,000.

Edit: 1/21/19, I bought an 80 series so I am no longer looking for full trades but I am open to a partial 80, 60, or 62 series trade rust free and a clean body.

My wife has told me no matter what I do or how nice i make this she is not riding in it, so I have thought this over again and again and figure I will again put it for sale. [/B]

I acquired this in July of 2018 and thought I would be able to hold on to it. Family reasons are forcing me to part with it. I will address a few things right away to avoid getting beat up to bad. I paid $14000 for it, got it home and spent over $4000 to install the Holley Stealth Ram MPI Fuel system, with a Radium surge tank, and more 99% all new parts. So I am into it now for over 19,800. I am now asking $16,000 for it which is a significant loss but I would like to get it to it's next home. It is located in Northern New Mexico. I am not offended by offers either but I feel like I am giving up a fair amount already.

The link below is the add that I purchased the vehicle from.
For Sale - 1965 fj45 new price 14000.00

The link below is from when this cruiser was listed here in 2012. My understanding is that the person listed in this add paid a shop in Arkansas to build the drive train for this 45.

A little extra history as much as I could dig up about the rig. A picture of this rig was found in a toyota trail magazine from the 90s (added pictures of the articles.) The original build and conversion to a flat bled occurred in the 90s or earlier. The rig was located in California until around 2011-2012 when it moved to Arkansas and owned buy a guy named Alan who I understand had the 383 stroker built and installed along with some of the drivetrain pieces before selling it to someone else in the area in 2012. I don't know the history for the middle owner but I bought it from forum member onebadlc who owned it for two years and says most of the time he just drove it to town.

I just acquired this 2 months ago and thought I would be able to hold on to it. Family reasons are forcing me to part with pretty much everything Land Cruiser that I own. I will address a few things right away to avoid getting beat up to bad. I paid $14000 for 2 Months ago(see add), got it home and installed $4000 plus in new 37" Toyo MTRs with freshly powder coated Hutchinson beadlock rims then spent over $4000 and started the install of a Holley Stealth Ram MPI Fuel system, with a Radium surge tank, 99% all new parts. So I am into it now for over $22,000. I will start out asking $22,000 for it. It is located in Northern New Mexico.

I will try to get a few more pictures as soon as I can but this is what it looks like with the Hutchinsons and here is another with the stealth ram install in progress.

Edit:
I am going to try and keep this so at this time it is not for sale. If that changes I will delete this edit to make it available again.

I love those wheels, they look perfect on this thing. Glad you are keeping it, I wanted to buy it when it was for sale a while back.

Bump
My wife will not ride in this so, I am open to selling it again. We already have a nice overlanding rig so I will start focusing on making upgrades to it.

The asking price is still 22,000. I am located in New Mexico.

I like that the mpi starts up nicely everytime. I still need to spend some time adjusting the tunning so it is not perfect as it sits today. I expect it will be a vast improvement after I get it dialed in.

The propane system that was on this truck has been completely removed, so it is gas only now.

Bump edits

Price drop to try and buy an 80 I have my eye on. Now 14,500 and I keep the wheels. Buy supplies their own wheels I also have another option here.

MMMMM Dennis, this is so so tempting. And I got 40/60/60/80/100 to trade you lol
Happy new year. Ivan

Ivan I am looking for a nice 80. What do you have?

DANG!!! You have NOOOO idea how tempted I am to swap rigs with you!!
Cheryl

Hey Cherly,

Your rig looks pretty nice but I don't know that I would daily drive this 45 in the Jemez. Needs a heater added at least.

Yah, that's my hang-up; I'd be back in the same boat as when I had the 40. Rough to leave the mountain with it; the 80 is more versatile. Todd and I would still love to check it out sometime. :) Good luck with the sale; great build!

You are welcome to come check it out any time. It is a fun rig and great on the trail. Too bad all the roads just closed up here.

Check your pm.
