Well in the process of replacing my ebrake on the 77 FJ40 I decided to change the oil in the transmission and transfer case. I grabbed a gallon of GL4 at the parts store and using the painfully slow pump I filled the transmission. When I climbed out and grabbed the jug I realized that I had just filled it with 140wt. Fatal mistake? What are the consequences of running the 140wt as opposed to the 90wt?
I coulda sworn I bought 90wt...

You won’t be able to go as fast 😝.

You're probably fine... until the temperature drops below freezing :D

Seriously, I think you'll be ok since 140 is just the next step up from 90.

I am curious now that you've asked the question, how many 'Oil Experts' will chime in with the pros/cons of your mistake.
