Hey all! Now that I have registration handled I'm focusing on getting my BJ74 in top running condition.

The 13B-T runs great. It's a little grumpy when you first wake it up, after you finally get it warmed up it idles happily at like 550-600. I did a full fuel system hot soak and it really cleaned things up, no smoke got a pump in power and a mile per gallon it looks like.

So my question here is valve adjustment. How often should they be done on these motors? On my F motors I did them every few oil changes. What's the process like? Very little info on search, although I did find clearances.

Thanks!

The specification for the 3B engine as fitted to the BJ60 Landcruisers is every 24,000klms.. probably overkill. My 2H gets done about every 100,000klms

Bump the idle speed up a bit and you might find she's a bit happier, spec is 650 IIRC, the 4 pots especially are a lot smoother idling a little higher.
