Stumbled across this neat little alternator 90 amp upgrade a few months back posted by

Honger -

And i finally found enough motivation to make a start this weekend. I Made some mods for second battery, fuse block, battery charger, circuit breakers ect. Once I have everything in place and ready to wire up I'll change out the alternator and attempt wiring🤞... I'm wanting to run fridge, interior lights, sound system, spottys, light bar a small inverter for tools and some charge points

I was hoping to buy a mounting plate I could just bolt up for fuse block but I couldn't find anything so decided thats probably a good place to start.
I'm well aware my welding leaves little to be desired lol but I'm ok with that 😆
I think I'll take the paint off and start again also as I didn't use hi temp paint and I'm not happy with exhaust heat... didn't even consider it until it was bolted in 😅

I would not bother with high temp paint in that location.
I like your angled clamp system.
What will go in the space forward of new battery?

Nice. I am doing something similar with mine. I'm putting two RTMR relay boxes and circuit breakers in the open area just behind the LH headlight.
Those RTMR boxes look good 👍 I probably would have got one if I knew about them previously lol

Just got home from auto shop with paint 🤣... it's happening now hahaha

Did you bend/form all that sheet yourself?
Great job!

Thanks

I wish I could take credit for the whole lot but I can't.

There was an old battery box there it had a fair amount of rust in the base.
I cut up some carbord templates then using an angle grinder i cut the original battery box. I had some scrap 25mm angle, 25mm RHS and 2mm plate laying around.
Then just spread some bird s*** using a borrowed welder 😂
I definitely don't have any special hardware or tools its all very much back yard tinkering 😅

all good from a far but far from Good, like most things I do 👍

People wonder why I have heaps and piles of scrap metal.
Far easier to look for the right shape amongst the junk rather than bending stuff on a vise.

And much cheaper than buying new stuff 😉

I am surprised how little options there are available for these trucks 🤯
No HO alternators besides mean green! They look great but I'm not about to fork out over $700 AUD. So 90A being biggest upgrade (mentioned above) ill have to run a smaller charger for now.
If Anyone has any info of someone rigging up a 150A or larger I'd be very grateful.

I started pulling the wiring installed by the previous owner, luckily. As it was one of the dodgiest wiring jobs I've seen
Most of it was live and going nowhere or earthing out on the body 😬... it must be a patrol person thing, hahahaha.

Hopefully I'll have most things wired and installed in, next couple weeks🤞
