1985 BJ70, 12V w/ factory dual batteries.

I have a National Luna dual battery isolator kit, and would like to install it in order to isolate one battery for the fridge/radios etc.

Anyone think there will be issues only having one battery for cranking? I'll have the ability to combine both batteries if necessary for really cold temps.

I ran my 70 for years on one battery. No trouble.

Thats how mine is set up on my HZJ75,although I have 3 batteries,2 cranking+1 deep cycle. Isolators cost about $50 each.
When I start the engine all 3 are connected and recharge. Its great having a fridge plugged in and cold all the time:D

I run the National Luna kit, no fridge but lots of lights and radios etc. One battery cranks the engine and the other powers everything else. No issues so far. Check my build thread for pics of the install and maybe an idea for a spot to mount the isolator.
Good luck

Certainly won't be an issue in AZ cranking :D If it does have some issues replacing the starter would most certainly help. With a new starter mine cranks over so fast compared to the 23 year old starter.
