Occasionally my 12HT will stall when I disengage the clutch as I come to a stop. The problem seems to only arise when the engine is below regular operating temperature.

My idle is set to 650, which is the factory default, but when I watch the RPM as I disengage the clutch, it actually drops below the 650 point to the 300-400 range. If the engine manages to recover, it jumps back up to 650. Any thoughts? Should I be upping my idle RPM or is there something else I should be looking at?

Thanks.

I had the same problem with my HJ61 with the 12h-t. Only did it when cold and very inconvenient if you happened to changing gear thru a corner in town and the engine dies... the steering is veeeery heavy all of a sudden and the truck justs goes straight ahead!

An injector clean, tune up did help but not eradicate the problem. What did fix it was increasing the idle speed. I am not sure how accurate the tacho is but it now reads about 750 and I no longer have the stall problem.

cheers
Gerard

Yes, that's the problem. I'll try increasing the idle and post my results. Thanks for the tip.

Yep, same here. Up the idle by 50 or so. Worked for me.
