I think you have to shift the PS reservoir.

It has been done quite few times but I cant remember seeing a write up any where, although there was a 12HT into a FJ75 swap on 4WD Action forum

Keep us informed ,this is a great swap:cool:

12HT swap

Hi,

Four weeks ago I swapped the 2H and gearbox and tranny out of my '81 HJ60 for a 12HT out of a '90 HJ61.

Took me two days of massive wrenching with a friend of mine.

Between the two models I had to deal with a the changes a 60 had to endure.

Thinks we had to alter:

RHS engine support swapped, powersteer pump remaned the same, so unbolt that one from the original engine and keep the ATF in place (do not unbolt all the hoses)

12HT has a diesel return line. Swapped the single diesel line for the two diesel lines and swapped te tank as well. (2H tank has only one connection)

Gearbox flanges are not the same, swapped.

Skipped pre glow extravaganza, start up without is fine.

2H has an EDIC, used those wires to power the vacuuum thingie from the 12HT. Hard to explain without pointing with my greasy finger...

Swapped exhaust.

Newer model has the vacuuum 4WD actuator. Sapped the two vacuuum solenoids.
Oh, and I changed to the newer gear levers as well.

Throttle pedal was made out of the 2H and 12HT pedals.
Drillt new holes in the bulkhead.

Kept the old style gearbox crossmember.

I think I forgot a few thinks...

It is a lot of work and best is you have a complete donor.

HTH

Good luck!

ive got an '85 aussie hj75 with 12v electrics, its got an '87 12ht in it and converted to 12v.used the 75 gearbox.like the guy said it aint a 5 minute job and if its at all possible you want to have the donor wagon parked beside your ute coz you will find that theres quite a few bits and pieces you will need.if you can get your hands on a 1hz its a much easier and tidier way to go.if you get stuck i can put some pics of mine up(if i can work out how)if you want. a bloody great padlock hanging off the throttle cable down near the injector pump makes it a bit nicer to drive when the going gets a bit bumpy.
