I don't have a pyro and on a recent 600 mile trip I was wondering what kind of RPM I could run steadily. I was trying to keep it under 3000 but I'd find myself over that quite often. Part of the trip was steep hills ( Coquihalla from Hope to Kamloops) and it would have been nice to know what kind of temperatures I reached. I will have to invest in a pyrometer soon for my own peace of mind.
I used to cruise all day at 2800 with my 2H but this truck wants to go faster. I don't want to push it too hard so I'd like to know what RPM I could run all day at . Thanks, Pete

3000 rpm seems a bit high. How fast are you driving? I usually drive 90 or so on the highway and I seem to stay around 2200 rpm with 33s.

I thought my 2H are not happy with constant 3k rpm .. and the EGT nod directy related with your rpm .. it means you can much diesel at 2K rpm and make your egt goes up or lean at 3K and your EGT can be cool !
