My JDM HJ61 has a North America 110v plug on it. Looks like a block heater. ???

Should have titled this thread "what is this under the hood". I must not be the only one with this thing on a JDM truck. It has a bunch of writing in Japanese on the lid but does have a 100v listed with it. Just seams odd since I thought Japan was all 220v and a different plug.

Any thoughts?

where does the black cable go to? to a block heater or a cabin heater?

Trace the line, where does it go to?
Plug it in, test, listen, smell.

Hey, I've got a similar 'plug' set up on my 12h-t motor. I don't know what it's for. Did you ever find out?

Its a OEM block heater:cool:.Part number 28560-47031.Japan has 100 volt versus 120 volt in USA or 240 volt in Europe. So not much use for it for the rest of the world........:p

Thanks! I'm might get a converter [Amazon - +/- $40 USD] so I can get away from the radiator hose-heater/battery blanket combo I'm currently running. I just had the 4mo. old hose heater short out & it seems like that could easily happen again:(. It would be nice to be using the OEM set up & there's some extra room to mount that converter under the hood ;). Thanks for the help!
