Howdy all,
So I have a puzzler for you. I have two vibration symptoms that may or may not be related. First, with engine idling, tranny in neutral, and clutch engaged I can hear the tranny input shaft vibrate. My old H42 did this too but that had a worn tranny input bearing. The H55 is brand new.
Second, when depressing the clutch pedal to shift gears during acceleration I hear a groan and feel a corresponding vibration from the clutch pedal. This only happens while shifting during acceleration.
The suspicion that I want to investigate is related to the flywheel. When I removed it fromthe engine during my conversion, I forgot to make alignment marks to make sure it was returned to the crank in the correct orientation.
There are no locating pins or other features to aid in this. The flywheel can bolt on in six positions. Double -
Does anyone have any info about this issue? Is the flywheel used to balance the rear of the engine?
Thanks
